Looking After Your Tables

From dining tables to coffee and side tables, these surfaces are the center of daily life. Proper care preserves the natural beauty of the materials and ensures your furniture remains a functional masterpiece for years to come.

Crafted for Every Occasion

Our tables are constructed using premium natural materials, each requiring specific care to maintain its finish. Whether you have chosen the warmth of solid oak or the cool elegance of honed marble, understanding the characteristics of your tabletop is the first step in long-term preservation.

A Timeless Investment

At The Crafted Home, we believe in sustainable design that matures with your home. By protecting your table from environmental stressors and using the correct maintenance techniques, you ensure that the craftsmanship we provide today remains a legacy for tomorrow.

Wood & Timber

Wood is a living material that responds to its environment. To prevent warping or cracking, maintain a consistent room temperature and avoid placing tables directly in front of radiators or air conditioning units.

Always use coasters and placemats to protect the finish from heat and moisture "rings." For cleaning, use a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and buff dry immediately. Avoid silicone-based polishes which can leave a sticky residue over time.

Marble & Stone

Natural stone is porous and sensitive to acids. Blot spills immediately, especially wine, coffee, or citrus juices, which can "etch" or stain the surface. Clean only with pH-neutral stone cleaners or mild soapy water.

Avoid placing heavy or sharp objects directly on the stone to prevent scratching or chipping. We recommend re-sealing your stone tabletop every 6–12 months to maintain its protective barrier.

Glass & Metal

For glass tabletops, use a dedicated glass cleaner and a soft cloth to maintain transparency and shine. For metal frames or legs, a dry microfibre cloth is usually sufficient to remove fingerprints and dust.

Do not use abrasive scouring pads on metal finishes, as these can permanently scratch powder-coated or polished surfaces. Always lift items rather than dragging them across the surface.

Maintenance

When moving your table, always lift it with two people. Never drag a table by its top, as this places significant stress on the leg joints and fixings. Periodically check that all bolts are tightened, particularly after the first few weeks of use in a new environment.

If your floor is uneven, use the adjustable levelling feet (if provided) to ensure the table sits flat, preventing structural strain on the frame.

Happiness Guaranteed

At The Crafted Home, our tables are built to be the heart of your home. We use only the finest raw materials to ensure every piece is as durable as it is beautiful.
